Welcome, this is the Accessibility Statement for the Administration and Joint Services of the City of Vaasa

This accessibility statement applies to the service and has been prepared / updated on March 29, 2022. The service is subject to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which requires that public online services be accessible.

We have assessed the accessibility of the service ourselves.

Digital service accessibility status

Partially meet the accessibility requirements.

Inaccessible content

2. Disproportionate burden

The website is new, more content will be added and at the same time accessibility will be improved.

3. The website is not yet fully compliant

Perceivable: Contrast between text on the image and background
Inaccessible content, issues

Sometimes there is text on the so-called main images and the background is not sufficiently dark to achieve sufficient contrast.

This fails accessibility criterion
1.4.3 Contrast (minimum)

Perceivable: Accessibility of documents produced by office programmes
Inaccessible content, issues
The attached documents may have the following flaws:

  • the document may be scanned
  • alternative text descriptions in images and interactive form fields are missing the labels to allow picking characters
  • the text may lack the correct order for reading and the document structure codes are not specified
  • navigation aids (links, bookmarks, titles, tab order) may be missing
  • the language of the document is not necessarily set
  • some forms may be protected against the use of assistive software (e.g. a screen reader)
  • the form fields are not necessarily interactive

This fails accessibility criteria
1.4.11 Non-text Contrast
1.4.10 Reflow
1.1.1 Non-text Content

Perceivable: Visualisation
Inaccessible content, issues

Some elements are structured into visually understandable groups, but screen-reader users cannot benefit from this.

This fails accessibility criterion
1.3.1 Info and Relationships

Operable: Links
Inaccessible content, issues

Links are partly ambiguously marked both visually and for a screen reader. For example, links that open an attachment are partially marked inconsistently.
There are also external links pointing at domains other than that are not all marked.

This fails accessibility criterion
2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context)
